   In the opinion of many people, it now appears that Microsoft's new release of their Xbox 360 Slim (as it's unofficial nickname) or Xbox 360 as its Official status is what's known as a smart but pointless release. In terms of it's new design the 'New Xbox 360 has really come upmarket it an attractive way, the new sleek design really does make it a proud member of your Entertainment Area and boosts that professional look, but it's Piano Black finish really does become an ''A class'' finger magnet and after polish disintegrates the delicate finish leaving small but somewhat annoying petite scratches. However these are only visible in direct sunlight and where direct light does not face the Xbox those marks fade away. Microsoft have clearly focused on all aspects of designing the New Xbox 360 and its new power button becomes an elegant sight when light is reflected on it. The rearrangement of the USB 2.0 slots have been rotated to face vertically which makes it easier to access them. Adjacent to this is the controller sync buttuon which is now larger as result making it easier to operate.
   At the rear of the console there is the normal Network cable and HDMI cable composite video. Newly installed however, is the new port for Microsoft's Kinect, which will disable the need for an adapter which earlier releases will need. Also 3 USB 2.0 slots have been fitted for maximum use with controllers and data mass storage devices. Microsoft have clearly listened to users and as a result have fitted and Optical audio cable separate from its past place on the Composite cable. The power cable has also been replaced to a new version. The exterior power supply has also been changed it's grill reduced but not greatly changed no longer being shiny.
   To the side of the Xbox the grill has become bigger and has become very sleef in terms of looks. It is now larger and this enables for heat to be dispersed from the system while it operates. This helps but not drastically as it seems that after 10 minutes of play the system still seems to heat up. On inspection however it is clear that more heat is being removed than its earlier predecessors and as result making it cooler but not drastically.

I have been playing the game for the past 5 hours or so and wanted to get a quick review out, will try to follow up with more. First of all, to the negative reviewers. . . the reason that the game is less than $40 is because they intentionally left things like SX out of it so that they could keep working on them and sell them as DLC. Same with real bikes, Suzuki, Yamaha and KTM will all be available to download soon for a few Microsoft Points. This is by design. Honda and Kawasaki don't seem to be included in future downloads, maybe they couldn't work out licensing. Also, if you are complaining about not being able to whip, scrub, etc. it is because you still have the stock frame and need to keep playing to unlock (or pay the 480 Microsoft points to unlock all upgrades).

This game takes everything that kept me playing MX vs ATV Reflex for the past year and added real world riders, nearly photorealistic environments, better sound, better collisions (bar banging) and tons of upcoming DLC for things like SX and real bikes. No, I am not fooled, I will absolutely end up paying full price for the game after getting all the DLC. . . but for someone who doesn't want SX or care about real bikes, then they will save some money. I have watched a lot of SX and MX on Speed over the past year or two, and it is very cool to ride against real riders rather than the random computer generated (non-persistent?) AI riders in Reflex.

There a few negatives, but not many. For example, out of the box there don't seem to be any points series, but I assume that you will download those. Also, you start with most of the good stuff locked and need to play for a few hours to level up. This is no different than Gran Turismo, etc. and to me adds to the enjoyment of the game. By the time I have unlocked the good stuff, I will be much better at the game. It is a little harder to crash in Alive than it was in Reflex, but that is not a bad thing. Neither is the bike on rails though, it feels fairly well balanced overall.

I am ok with giving this game a 5 for fun and overall because the predecessor was one of the few games I played for a full year after I bought it and this one (after 5 hours) takes all the things I enjoyed about the previous one and adds more.

University of Texas research indicates gamers have significantly worse recollection, perception of brands advertised in guns-and-gore software.

Save for a few rare instances, gamers haven't been keen on seeing real-world advertisements populate their fantasy adventures. However, that dislike may amount to more than just a minor irritation when it comes to violent games. According to a new research study, ads that appear in violent games actually have a detrimental effect on the brand being sold.

Conducted at the University of Texas, the study was authored by doctoral candidate Seung-Chul Yoo and assistant professor Jorge Pena. It will appear in the July/August issue of Cyberpsychology, Behavior, and Social Networking and is said to be the first to link "increased video game violence and impaired in-game ad effectiveness."

Two groups participated in the study. The first group navigated a number of rooms that included blood spots on the floor, while being assailed by computer-controlled characters wielding weapons. The second group was presented with a nonviolent take on the same situation, with players walking through rooms with water spots and encountering empty-handed computer-controlled characters. In the violent version of the scenario, participants were also wielding weapons.

[CORRECTION:] This article originally reported that participants in the study observed, but did not interact with, the violent and nonviolent imagery onscreen. In actuality, participants controlled a character that was either being shot at in the blood-soaked environments or not being shot at in identical water-soaked rooms. GameSpot regrets the error.

After the demo ended, participants were asked to recall the brands advertised as well as relate their perceptions of those brands. The study found that those who witnessed the violent scenario had a significantly lower score when it came to brand recall and perception.

Women in particular had a negative response to the violent game. Study authors postulated the reason for this as being that women typically have less experience with violent games or that men who more often play these types of games have become desensitized to the violence.

Yoo and Pena concluded that violent content not only pulls players' attention away from ads, but also creates a subconscious link between negative imagery and the brand. They said that a similar effect has been observed in violent television programs as compared to nonviolent TV shows.

"Advertising campaign planners would do better to spend their budget on ads embedded in nonviolent video games than in ads placed within violent video games; particularly if they are trying to reach women," said Yoo.

Jobs was ousted by the board in 1985 amid differences over strategy. In his time away, Jobs ran movie animation studio Pixar, which he later sold to Walt Disney Co., as well as NeXT Software Inc., a company Apple acquired to return him to the company. It's really not THAT bad...

Apparently I'm one of the few people who are actually enjoying this game. While Captain America: Super Soldier falls short of the mark set by Arkham Asylum I don't think it's near as bad as people have been making it out to be. Just because it's not the best doesn't mean it's terrible.

Sure, the environmental details could have been better, but they aren't bad enough to actually ruin your experience...not anywhere close. And as for the fighting, I actually quite enjoy it. The shield adds a welcome change to what I feel was a little monotonous in Arkham Asylum. For my "run & gun" style playing, having a shield to reflect bullets works quite well. My only complaint about the combat would be that it is not as fluid changing between targets during combat.

As for game length, for not being an RPG, it's really about standard length.

Is it the best game out there? No...but it's a lot better than it's being given credit for.

And let's not forget it RELEASED at under $40!!!

Best movie tie in game in a long time

This game if far from perfect, but it is very enjoyable and at it's low launch price it is worth a try. The last few games the Sega put out for the marvel universe such as Thor and Iron Man 2 weren't worthy of the titles, but this one is well above their standards.

The game has some control and camera issues but overall perfection is a hard thing to obtain and this game does the job. If you enjoyed the Wolverine movie tie in this game will give you an enjoyable experience.

Captain America: Arkham Asylum

Batman: Arkham Asylum is one of the best if not the best super hero game ever made so its only logical that developers would attempt to copy it and that is exactly what the devs of Captain America: Super Soldier have done, the question then is did they succeed? Well, yes and no.

Let me start by saying that I am absolutley loving Super Soldier! When it comes to combat the developers have done a fantastic job, anyone that has played Arkham Asylum will feel right at home. Cap controls great, combat is fast and brutal, it uses the exact same counter attacking that was found in AA as well as the slow motion zoom in for that final bone breaking punch or kick. Cap of course does not have all of Batman's gadgets he does have his trusty shield which can be thrown, block enemy bullets right back at them and used to melee the enemy into submisson. It's so satisfing to be surounded by 10 enemies and to effortlessly dispatch them without a scratch on you. Boss fights have been a lot of fun, i'm really enjoying the story which is all contained within one giant compound and the voice acting is solid with Chris Evans and several other actors from the film providing their voices.

Now Super Soldier is a movie tie in which means a shorter development time because they have to have it out in time for the film which is a shame because with a little more time and polish Captain America could have been a truly great game rather than just a really solid one. Obviously it is a little rough around the edges graphics wise. Cap himself looks really good and is really well animated but environments don't fare quite so well, however I don't have as much of a problem with this as others, you actually visit several distinct locations throughout the game, large open courtyards, a prison, hedge maze, Barron Zemo's mansion, underground labs, a sewer system for accessing every area of the game, ect. it isn't just the same looking place over and over again the problem is that they just lack detail. Platforming can be a pain, its pretty much automated by just taping the A button at the right time Cap will fly through the platforming and gain large amounts of focus for pulling off special moves however the problem is that the timing can be really hard to get down, there is no penalty for messing up your timing though, you can't fail, Cap just traverses the invironment a little slower.

With all that said Captain America: Super Soldier is still awesome! There are tons of collectibles to collect my favorite being Zemo's diary entries, lots of off the beaten paths to explore in order to complete side objectives like taking out AA guns and even some challenge rooms to complete. So if you are a Cap fan or an Arkham Asylum fan then Captain America: Super Soldier should make you very happy.

Great Buy for Gamers!

These work absolutely amazing. Easy to put on (no glue required like some say). They actually provide a noticeable difference in grip and are very comfortable. Used them on my xbox 360 controllers, and am ordering another set for my ps3 controllers. I used these on a marathon gaming session, which was pretty much a good part of a weekend. They never loosened or came off once, and my finger's never got sore (I think it feels better than the standard analog sticks).

Story
Divinity II: Ego Draconis brings you back to Rivellon, a timeless world of awe and magic, torn and scarred by successions of apocalyptic wars. Gameplay
Divinity II: Ego Draconis like its predecessors, Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity, is a single player RPG utilizing the standard system of experience point accumulation to level up characters to meet the growing challenges faced. Except in cases where the storyline requires specific series of events and environments, the game features a seamless gameworld, that for the most part players are free to explore. This along with a moral component to decision making, 20 possible quest solutions and varied non-player character (NPC) reactions makes for gameplay pleasing to any RPG fan.

In addition, like Beyond Divinity, Divinity II features a classless character system, where it is possible for any created character, with the right distribution of experience points, to attain the items and/or abilities needed to triumph in virtually any situation faced. This is by design to add flexibility to gameplay. Players of Divinity II also experience flexibility in the game's mix of aerial and ground-based combat. This is rooted in shape-shifting ability that allows players, once the dragon ability is unlocked, and playing in areas physically permissible to the dragon form, to switch between human and dragon forms at will. Beyond the obvious increase in power, playing as a dragon also allows for special skills and abilities not available to humans, as well as allows you to travel faster and longer distances than possible in your human form. Be warned though, you are also much more visible to enemies. Another pivotal element of gameplay is the Battle Tower. Battle Towers are central structures to which you can teleport at all times — once a tower is yours, that is — using a mystical device called the Dragon Stone. Hello, today I am speaking of Halo Reach, one of the best First Person Shooter for Xbox 360.

This is where the second Halo, do not play as Master Chief innannzitutto and we will be in Noble and team play as the role of six Noble, newcomer to the team, which gradually able to gain the trust of the other Noble.

Much of the story will take place on Reach, a colony of Earth, the planet just invaded by the Covenant (a combination of various alien races), even if on a mission we are engaged in an interstellar battle. I do not anticipate anything, because it will spoil within a fantastic experience game that can offer you Reach.

The graphics engine used by bungie has been improved greatly compared to Halo 3, now we have some beautiful armor, vegetation very real, in practice those at Bungie have done a great lavoro.Il the audio is great, I miss just the one tune that you could hear from halo 1 to Reach 3.Grande new in the customization of their armor, in fact, playing Xbox Live, or by shootings and personalized online games you can earn credits that can then be spent to buy helmets, items armor, shooting items, etc.. etc. ....

Not just another plastic controller.

I will kinda cut the actual Rock Band 3 part of this thing out, because the focus here is on the instrument, the 360 version specifically. I'll just say that it does its job perfectly fine with the game and move along.

So, on to the actual keyboard. Anyone who's ever spent ten seconds messing around with one will either know or secretly understand there are usually two things about keyboards when it comes to their construction: the keys have a certain weight to them, and the instrument is usually solidly built (not plastic-y). The MadCatz keyboard fits both of those roles perfectly. It does NOT feel like the vast majority of the other Rock Band 3 instruments, namely the guitar: thin, hollow plastic things which feel like you could snap them over your knee. No, this cat is pretty solid and feels like it could take a battering if need be. The keys have a natural weighted feel and respond just as they should, but with a single addition of ridges over the left ends of some, likely to help newbies with the game align their fingers with the colored sections without having to look down...as much.

If I've given the impression that this thing has a built-in speaker, think otherwise. And Rock Band 3 doesn't, as far as I can remember, have a freestyle mode to let you play whatever on the keys. But, this does come with a 5-pin MIDI outlet, and all of its buttons and keys - and I'm pretty sure literally ALL of them, even the touch strip - are programmed for use with MIDI software. This puts it further into something more of an actual instrument than just a game controller.

It makes for a compact, fairly versatile item, albeit for the niche market of music gamers and creative keyboardists. As for its interplay with Rock Band 3, there's no real need to mention it here other than it works, because anything deeper is on the game side, which I'll save for a review of it rather than this peripheral.

The peripheral is good, it's use in the game has some flaws...

There is little to say about the keyboard... it's two octaves, the keys feel pretty nice, and it responds quite well. Overall it's well built and functions nicely with Rock Band 3.

The real problem with it is not in the hardware, but in the game itself. You'll find that the disc only has 63 songs with keys out of the 83, and at least 6 of those 63 tracks aren't really worth playing, unless you enjoy hitting 5 notes and then playing nothing for half the song. The songs that do have a reasonable amount of keys, however, are incredibly fun on both standard and pro, and certainly makes the purchase worthwhile. Additionally, downloadable songs will come with keyboard parts when there is one in the song, so you'll quickly be able to add to the small library of key songs.

The pro keyboard mode works very nicely, offering a nice extra challenge on top of the standard instruments for those who want it, and you may even learn a few things from doing it. My only complaint here being that, in practice mode, you can only slow down to 60%, which is still to fast to properly learn some of the more complex songs like Roundabout.

Overall, the keyboard is a really nice instrument and a nice addition to Rock Band.

Great peripheral

The keyboard was pretty exciting to play with and get the hang of. Having had some piano experience in the past, it wasn't too difficult to pick up on but there are some pro's and cons to be aware of.

Pros:
1) The keys are spaced out pretty much like a regular keyboard, and there's a strap if you want to use it as a keytar.
2) Its pretty easy on battery life and there are normal AXYB buttons on the pad, unlike the old RB guitars, to allow easier navigation.
3) Sits pretty comfortable in the lap on a couch too if you prefer not to use the strap, or if you have a stand.

Cons:
1) The keys are REALLY sensitive. You've got to get in the habit of not resting any weight on the keys because it'll set off a press which can screw up a combo sometimes.
2) You only play with 1 hand. 2 hand play can be done but because of the size of the piano, its kinda awkward, and when the key segments shift in game, it takes some practice to learn where to replace the hands.
3) For non pro-mode keyboarding, the 5 keys to play are hard to find at first because there are 2 sets of color coordination on the board itself. Smaller color codes are right above the keys, under the large color boards, showing where to play.

All in all, its fun to play, as Rock Band has been since it came out and the keyboard adds a little more flavor to a pretty immersive game already.

Finally The Real Deal! Microsoft Official Black Chat Pad Is Here!

I've been looking out for this item for a few months now, and shockingly I found it here on Amazon. I couldn't find it online anywhere or in stores. I refused to buy the White Chat Pad kit thats been out here on online stores, and on the shelves in retail stores. I wasn't sure if this was really the original black Chat Pad at first, and was thinking twice about purchasing it. I just took my chances, and I'm glad I did. This matches great with my new Xbox 360 25O GB Hard Drive Console. Looks great, matches, easy to use, keypad lights up for use when playing with the lights off, and most importantly relieves me of the time it takes to reply to messages from friends, and posting messages on my facebook. Great product, highly recommend it. This isn't the knock off "White" playback Chat Pad that they custom paint Black that you find on e Bay that people are selling for like $50.00. I Got my product on time and for a great price, with free shipping, I was satisfied. Can't say anything bad about this Chat Pad, it's great and ofcourse this comes complete with the new all black live headset. Great way to get your game on, and save yourself lots of time.

"Hello everyone, I bought this console (Xbox 360) on launch day and I am fully satisfied, never a problem, wireless joystick, graphics impeccable, not to mention the project fully successful "Xox Live." Undoubtedly behind a next-generation consoles such as Xbox is 360 (and what will PS3) lie hidden costs, but if you want to support and make the most of the full potential of these consoles. Costs such as a TV that supports HD (high definition) I personally have purchased a Samsung 32-inch LCD (in my opinion is perfect for watching TV and playing) or a cheaper but equally valid is to purchase the LCD TV a screen connected to the console via the VGA cable available in all stores at a cost of $34. It would be better than the size of the monitor are possible 16 / 9 or 16/10, it is important that most closely matches the resolution, and the standards for which xbox360 has been created (16 / 9), otherwise the game screen will be adapted to the size of monitor. To make you understand the rehabilitation, in the case of a screen 4 / 3, the game screen does not completely fill the screen but will display the classic black bands that will reduce the "visual" of the game. And 'course, can also play using a television cathode ray tube, but of course will not be exploited high-definition and personally guarantee that the difference is astounding and amazing and the transition from cathode-ray tube TV with LCD TV / Monitor denotes a quantum leap impressive. Focusing on the price, then there should be no doubt as to what to buy next-generation consoles: Xbox 360, delivering to the retailer to another console (PS2 and Xbox1), you can take it home with as many as $140 (if I understand it is a temporary promotion to which you may want to take advantage!) otherwise the most complete version (with hard drive, wireless controller, component cable for LCD / Plasma ..) at a price of 349 against the exaggerated and disproportionate (in my opinion) $850 of the PS3, the price paid for a console that will not do anything new or different! also the playground of the home console Microsoft is expanding greatly and I would definitely reduce if not eliminate the criticisms that have been made PS2's supporters to discourage that xbox owners were only leverage that Sony has a much larger playground than that held by Microsoft and I'm sure the same criticism that will be proposed in any discussion where you are looking for a comparison between 360 and PS3: Numerically speaking I agree (it is undeniable) that Sony has many more games than microsoft, but I think it is important to stress the fact that you are giving a speech focused purely on quantity rather than quality, and we all know , that at least 40% of home games sony are crap (both from the point of view chart in terms of longevity and gameplay) that would disgust even to a 3 year old child, while a good 55% by large ( eg. Need For Speed or Burnout) whose rights were also purchased by Microsoft and finally a 5% characterized by good games available only sony (eg Final Fantasy, only available online for xbox360) without forgetting that the percentage (if not more) is also present in Microsoft (eg Ninja Gaiden, Fable, Halo ...). Best charger out there

I bought this charger from Amazon, when I opened I was surprised with the quality that I saw from the begging.

I am a casual gamer and don't use my controller to the limit, and I was getting good times with AA batteries. But I wanted rechargeable batteries. And this was the best option out there.

The base have a great design (your controller always finish in the right position when you drop it), the batteries fit like normal ones in the controller, the charge time is good and it keeps your controller in a good place.

Best Charger Ever

I waited to write this review until I had used the product for two weeks. I had planned to order a different charging unit till I saw this one. Prviously I had used a microsoft charger, but I was unhappy with its performance and the constant swapping of batteries. So far I am in love with this unit. Sure, the battery must be attached to the charger, you can't have the headphones plugged in and the lights are bright, but the super quick cgarging time and convenience make it worth it! So far the batteries have lasted through even my longest HALO 3 sessions. I liked it so much I immediately bought another for my buddy and he reports zero issues with his as well.

If you want a new speedy charger look no further. This is the unit you need!

This is an awsome charge base with two charge packs. It is true that you have to use they're charge packs. It is also true that I have not had this charge base too long, but I absolutley love it. It is a great place to store your controller or controllers. The controller fits snugly in the charge base. Also, the lights in front of the charge base light up the color red when the pack is charging. When the pack is charged the light turns green. When the pack is fully charged, the light turns off.
I use my controller for the xbox 360 and the computer. When ever I set the controller down, I usually set it on the base and it continues to charge. Great Product.

A few tips for those experiencing overheating consoles!

DISCLAIMER: This review is limited to the redesigned Xbox 360 that came out in June of 2010.

First of all, the Xbox 360 is a truly great console with an excellent game library and revolutionary online play. With that said, I know many have experienced problems with overheating, causing a number of issues. I know Microsoft has claimed it is "whisper quiet" and that it runs significantly cooler than previous versions. That is true, to an extent. But what Microsoft has failed to convey to the general public is that the Xbox is basically a highly modified computer that generates significant heat and needs proper ventilation to function like they claim. So here are some general tips for unsuspecting consumers.

1. Install the game to the harddrive: Under My Xbox you will see "Play [Title of Game]". Hit the yellow Y button to install game. It will give you the option of install game or play game. Choose to install. This shouldn't take very long, each game is 5-7 GB each. You will notice your system drop a few volume levels after doing this. Trust me!

2. Proper ventilation: This takes some common sense. Make clear and ample room for your heat vents. Most of the heat dissipates from the top vent (if you console is laying horizontal) and right side.

3. Keep your Xbox horizontal. Yes, the Amazon picture currently shows an upright, vertical Xbox. It looks cool, I know. The first thing I did with mine was place it vertical on a hardwood floor and played for maybe an hour. Bad idea. The area of the floor where my console once stood was unbelievably hot.

Keep in mind that you need to have the 250GB version in order to install games. The 4 GB just doesn't give enough space. Installing your games and maintaining proper ventilation are key to keeping your Xbox 360 as cool as possible. Not to mention the quicker load times and super quiet operation when actually playing. Hopefully following these simple tips will prolong the life of your console. May you and your Xbox 360 have a long, happy relationship!

Vast improvement from previous Xbox 360.

I would like to begin by saying that I have had an Xbox 360 since 2007. I had one of the "Falcon" chipset models, and even that console was loud, crude, and frustrating. I dealt with the mishaps however, as the games and content you get from Xbox is top notch. After 3 years of playing the console (a month after my 3 warranty ended) my Xbox died on December 8th, 2010 due to an E74 error. Microsoft would have charged me over $100 if I sent the thing in, so I figured it was not worth it. I did not know whether to give it a funeral or smash it to bits, since the previous cheaper models are hard to come by. I had no choice but to purchase the new console since I spent so much time and effort in my games in the first place. I just got it today and I can tell you it is a vast improvement from the older models. VAST.

Noise and Reliability:
This is one of the reasons people tend to shy away from the Xbox 360, along with the Red Ring of Death and E74 errors.(DARN YOU E74!!!). The console is DEAD silent. You do not hear a peep from the thing until you start playing a game. That's the thing, it's not silent when you play a game, but it's definitely not deafening. It's certainly a great improvement over the older ones, and what you do hear is a silent buzz. The POWER and EJECT button make a beeping sound when pressed, like the (FAT) PS3's do. It's kinda cool. Other than this, I do recommend that you install your games, because if you do, it will be dead silent all the time. As for reliability, I cannot comment much about it, but from what I understand, you cannot get the Red Ring of Death anymore. The console gives you a warning message, then proceeds to shut itself down, to prevent internal damage. You let it cool down and it will be back to normal.

Functionality:
The 360 case is shiny, and very much a finger print magnet. The controller has changed a bit too. It looks like it has a matte feel, but feels like shiny plastic and the bottom is shiny black. The "X" guide button used to be a metal finish, now it is chrome. The POWER and EJECT button are touch sensitive, where you can just tap the area and the button is pressed. Makes a beeping sound when pressed too. The console has 5 USB ports, two in the front and 3 in the back. It has an HDMI port, a separate optical audio port (YAY, the old one forced you to use the Component cable outs). It also has the standard Ethernet port. This console does have a wireless N adapter, which is pretty awesome. I didn't use it, since I already had the space built for the Ethernet cable, but it's there if connections are an issue. The console itself, is smaller, and there are vents everywhere! The memory ports have been taken off, as they are basically dinosaur material. A couple of points that you have to know:

1. The console no longer comes with HD cables out of the box, only standard A/V cables. This is a disappointment, but Amazon had their branded HDMI cables which are awesome.

2. The hard drive is not the same as the previous ones, which means that you cannot simply "plug in" your old drive to the new ones. This is a hassle, but you can get the transfer cable and transfer content to the new Xbox 360. Works well, but installed games do not transfer, so you have to install them again. A pain, but still works. A Long with the transfer, you have to transfer licenses if you have bought anything from Xbox Live which is very easy. If you would like to know how to transfer Hard Drive data or Licenses to your new console, ask me in the comments and I'll give you a short tutorial.

Conclusion:
This is a great product. Aside from a few gripes, this is vast improvement from the originals. If you don;t have an Xbox 360, I highly recommend this item. If your old Xbox 360 broke, I also highly recommend it. BUT, if your old Xbox 360 still works, you would be a fool to spend $299.99 on this. It is the same exact console and should only be bought if, or I should say WHEN your old Xbox craps out on you. This review was mainly for people who do not know much about the 360, or have had their old 360 die on them. If you have any questions, I will be glad to answer them in the comments.

I ordered this item on the 5th of this month and am happy with my purchase. Setting it up was very easy and only took about 10 minutes or so to complete, taking into account having a couple of updates throughout the whole process. Also, retrieving my profile was very easy. I have not tried out Forza Motorsport 3 or Alan Wake yet, but probably will in the next couple of days. I'm liking the improvements that have been made to the XBOX 360. Having 5 USB ports instead of 3 is nice as well as the built in WiFi, although I still prefer to have a wired connection for various reasons. Also having the touch-activated buttons for opening/closing the tray and for turning the console on/off is nice. There also seems to not be any input lag while going through the dashboard, which is nice. After playing for a couple of hours, the unit got only slightly warm. Overall this has been a worthwhile purchase. For those who are looking into buying this bundle, Forza Motorsport 3 comes on a physical disc while Alan Wake comes on a download voucher. So whether you've been wanting to upgrade, or if you're looking to buy an XBOX 360 for the first time, this bundle is probably a good way to do so. Thank you for reading this.

Finally, I can bring Xbox anywhere!

Our production company often travels for business and PSP, 3DS etc. is fine since hotel TVs tend to be older SD sets so I just got use to having to leave my favorite games like COD and Street fighter IV behind till I got home. We saw this screen running at E3 2011 and it was fantastic! I had mine on pre-order ever since we got back into the office and it just showed up today. Well built, holds my Xbox 360 pefectly, no overheating, it's great! I WAS looking at other HORI screens for around $250 but they just click on top of the system, they don't close up with into a case with a handle. This product is also great for those in the MLG and NEED to make sure they have an HD screen everywhere they go. I'll definately be keeping mine and using it for a long LONG time.... the only draw back is that the LED screen is a bit on the sharp side (hey GAEMS, please add sharpness control!) but it's still the best thing on the market.

G155 unit is amazing!

I just received my unit yesterday, and I have been playing on it non-stop since it arrived (with a few hours of sleep). The detail/resolution of the screen is great, and there is no lag from the screen when I play online. Even my blue-ray movies on my PS3 look great! Also I have ever so thankful for the Hard plastic case. When I closed it up for the night, my dog knocked it off the small table I had it set on(I was soo mad!). When I opened it up I expected the worst, but absolutely nothing inside was damaged! My PS3 started right back up, and the screen was not cracked, not even a scratch, crack, or dent on the case.
I will definitely be more careful in the future (Bad Dog). Thank you GAEMS for making sure a great product!

Great product to have the younger ones watch their own movies, netflix shows or play games while I get my 42" tv back. Perfect for our trips to my parents house and a solution for the grandma's house is sooo boring issues of three kids. My feeling is that the game of EA Sports.

I was one of the many people who love sports. And I'm someone who likes to play the game. My favorite holiday is to play games related to sports. It was a fun one to play games at my house without having to meet the changing needs of the weather. I like to play games about football and I play this game for many companies. However, we found that there are advantages and disadvantages to each. If you ever play the game of EA Sport's you will find that the game has beautiful graphics and realism. However, the downside is that often take longer to load and allows players to bother. But that is past. "Things have changed, it's a fact. And I know some people are not going to like it. Back when I first played Guitar Hero 2, all the way up through playing Rock Band 3 most of tonight with my brother, what I have always loved about all of these games is shredding on a tasty solo. Something entirely self-indulgent, and an obscene amount of fun. That being said, that is not what Rock Band 3 aimed for this time. The emphasis has shifted and is now on the entire band. One could argue as Rock Band was the first to come out with the drums / bass / vocal parts to create the band performance, the emphasis has always been on the band. But for me it always seemed like for the most part the vocals, drums and bass parts were all secondary to most of the songs that really have stand-out guitar parts. The selection of songs is indicative of a change in focus, from being the "guitar" game, to being the "band game." No where is this more obvious than in Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody.' I was looking forward to playing the two awesome guitar solos in it, but when playing the song, a lot of it has me either sitting through vocal / drum / keyboard sections, or playing very easy note sequences. The songs are more mellowed-out, more easily accessible to those people looking to play as a group. Some people will not like that, but I don't mind so much.

As far as songs go, I was disappointed to a certain extent. While we do get 'Free Bird,' 'The Beast and the Harlot,' and 'No One Knows,' as the other reviewer pointed out, those songs have been in previous Guitar Hero games. There are so many songs that would be so cool on Rock Band, but some of these are just recycled, and I'm not sure why. But since all of my downloaded songs carried over it really wasn't too big a deal. What we are really paying for in this game is the new ways in which songs play out, and the upgraded features the new software offers.

You know that feeling in a sequel where you're having fun, but it's a tentative kind of fun, where you're waiting to see or experience something that they changed from the previous game that you are really not going to like? That's how I felt for the first couple of hours while I was playing tonight. But I have to give Harmonix credit once again. It seems that they left everything that worked in Rock Band 2, and then added features that were lacking from that game. For instance, when playing a set I was always disappointed that the only song you could see your note streak on was the last of them. It's been changed now. Rock Band has taken a page out of Guitar Hero's book here, and made your song stats viewable between songs. They even offer breakdowns of every section of the song, as well as a breakdown of how many points you earned in what ways (ie keeping a streak, overdrive, sustained, etc.). On top of that, when you are playing a song with more than just yourself, it shows you how many points each player got individually, minus the combined overdrive effect, which is neat. And you can rate songs right after you play them, which is a nice feature when you have ~500 songs so sift through.

Solos are slightly different looking, not so much in your face anymore. Instead of the note track glowing glue, the edges of the track glow blue. Most of the time you won't even realize you're playing a solo until you notice it counting your percentage. Same thing with a new addition to overdrive. There are still the white-note sequences that earn you 25% of overdrive, but now there is also a new kind, where the edges of the note track will glow yellow, and for getting those parts perfectly you earn 50% overdrive automatically. I'm ambivalent on that point though. I didn't see as the overdrive needed changing, but it's definitely not something I'm complaining about.

Setlists can now be saved to be played whenever you want, and the filters for organizing or displaying songs has been greatly expanded (Artist, Album, Genre, Decade, Instrument, Pro Mode Difficulty, Keyboard Part, Rating, Alphabetical by song, etc). Some things have been altered a bit, but it takes a learning curve or just a few minutes. As with recent Guitar Hero games, you can now drop in or out of a song or set at any time, as well as change profiles during any menu screen, which is a really nice new addition to the Rock Band repertoire. Another little thing that I noticed was pausing during a song. We've all done it, and it seems to happen unavoidably when we have a streak going, we've all been there. Rock Band 3 has solved the issue, and it's incredibly simple. Guitar Hero: World Tour made it so when you unpause it gives you a few seconds to see what notes are coming, which was cool...but it was a frozen screen, and you had no clear idea of how fast the notes might come at you. With this game, when you unpause the song rewinds a few seconds, and while it doesn't let you replay notes, it scrolls a blank note chart for a few seconds so you can get the feel of the speed, and then you pick up right back where you left off. Awesome new addition to the game.

I think the only negative thing I can say about the game is that I miss the fun facts about bands that would display while the songs were loading. But again Harmonix won't even let me complain about that, because the reason they're gone is because loading times are insanely faster than they used to be. You pick your set, and within a few seconds the song is starting. I don't know how they pulled that off, but it's impressive. In fact, I think the only loading screen I've had so far was the first time I loaded the game, and the game was updating my downloadable songs. A+ for efficiency.

The only REAL complaint I can make is that the Pro Mode guitar controller isn't coming out for a couple more weeks (what's up with that, Madcatz?). But I can say this, I browsed the training tutorials for both Pro Guitar and Keyboard, and they are extensive. It really is an impressive accomplishment, and I'm really looking forward to trying it out when the guitar gets here.

The bottom line really is this: Even if you don't like any of the songs that come with Rock Band 3, you should still buy it to play your old songs with the news features, because it's so worth it."

Rock Band 3 Drum Set

I absolutely LOVE this drum set! It was an upgrade from the Guitar Hero World Tour drum set. It was very well packaged which is expected. The instructions to put this thing together weren't necessarily "idiot proof" but I did eventually get it set up how I wanted it in about 30 minutes. You can adjust the height of the individual cymbals and the drum set as a whole however you like.

This drum set is very sturdy. I like to POUND the drums and this set can take it well. The packaged drum sticks are thicker than the Guitar Hero ones. Its a good thing, but they create a little more noise and I live in an apartment. So I may invest in some Rock Band drum silencers.

Also, I noticed a lot of people complain about the yellow cymbal slowly lowering after a certain amount of hits. I won't sit here and they put it together wrong, but I have never had any problems with my cymbals. As stated before, I hit the drums a little harder than the average person and my cymbals are in the same place I installed them.

Another good thing is that this drum set does not take up a WHOLE LOT OF SPACE! For it to have 4 pads and 3 cymbals you would think otherwise.

One main thing I wondered before buying this drum set was if it was compatible with any games besides Rock Band. I own a few Guitar Hero games myself. But this set does work with all of my Guitar Hero games that have drum capabilities. (GHWT, GH5) They even changed the highway to 4 notes because I don't have the fifth one like the Guitar Hero drums. I assume it will work with all the other GH games. I guess it should if it costs that much.

In Rock Band 3 it is supposed to have a pro feature where the cymbals and bass pads will have their own notes. I'm really looking forward to that and it actually played a big role in swaying my mind to buy it.

I think this drum set is very attractive. A BIG step from the Guitar Hero one, and every time I look at this drum set it makes me want to pop in the game and get my Travis Barker on. So definitely worth the money but ONLY if you like to drum.

Repackaged RB2 kit with new cymbals

Beware, these drums are not anything new. The kit is the RB2 kit that's just been repackaged and called Pro because it contains three cymbals as well. If you have a RB2 kit already you will not be upgrading your drums if you buy this kit. You're better off waiting for the cymbal expansion pack that's to be released, I think, when the game drops. I'm not sure if the RB2 kit came with this too but in the box was an adapter that enables you to use two kick pedals.

Out of the box, the setup was the same for the drums. The cymbals are another matter. The plastic parts need a significant amount of force to snap closed and if you don't snap them, they will slowly ride down the pole when you hit them.

I had a problem with the blue and green cymbals. Since these cymbals are fully covered in rubber unlike the old ones which only had a section of rubber, the rubberized surface adds a significant amount of weight to them. Once I had the clamp tightened as far as I could get it, the clamp still started to slide down. I put some clothy-type tape over the plastic rim that the clamp covers and it's been working okay so far.

I gave it three stars because I really wish they provided sturdier plastic on these cymbal holders since they feel very lightweight for the cymbals that now have some weight to them. If they were stronger material, they probably could have made them longer so you could put the yellow cymbal more to the left.

Also, the blue and green are right next to each other so even with the blue elevated to a reasonable height, half of the green cymbal is covered by the blue one. I'm not a drummer so I don't know if on a typical kit these are so close but it looks way too close. I'm sure once you play a while you'll get used to it though.

Overall, it's a great kit and doesn't take a up a lot of space. The pads are not as loud as I thought they would be so that's helpful. The cymbals make a thunk sound but nowhere near the sound that the original RB kits made. That was tapping on a tabletop.

The kit works but..

These drums kits work great, but if you're an expert drummer that plays songs such as everlong, and really any song with drum rolls; These pads get on peoples nerves. Not only can they be loud, but they tend to have a "bubble" effect, after about 2 weeks of play. This mainly happens on the snare (red) pad. These bubbles on the pad are formed from the impact of drum rolls, they cause the rubber to deform and peel from the glue holding them to the set. Now when this happens your accuracy begins to drop and it becomes much harder to play. While there are fixes to this, such as peeling the rubber off and reapplying new/better glue. Honestly i don't feel i should have to use a DIY method with a product at this price.

The cymbals also have some issues. You may get lucky, but on my set, the yellow and blue cymbals both double-hit each time I hit them, causing me to almost never get a multiplier. When playing rock band 3 pro mode, I have to turn off the yellow and blue because only my green cymbal works correctly.

Don't get me wrong these drums work great for anyone below the expert difficulty, but if you are a big rock band fan or drummer, invest in a ION drum set, they last much longer.

"I received the game from Amazon yesterday and all I can say this is a must buy. I have not played the game without the Kinect (you do have the option to do so). Also I have the Kinect on top of my DLP (the first review said that it works better if it was placed higher).

This is the best game out for the Kinect yet (6/14/11), period (Sorry Kinect Sports, your 2nd best now).

The Graphics are simply amazing, easily a 10. The controls were very good, and the sensor picked up and tracked my arm movements very easily. The pace of the game was great (and some parts are frantic).

You use your right hand to target your laser and after you lock on up to 8 targets a quick flick of your wrist fires the laser. You use your left hand to target and fire a rapid fire gun that can shoot down enemy missiles that are fired at you. When you raise both hands you unleash a powerful bomb that basically nukes everything on the screen. There are blue balls that are periodically released that you have to shoot to regenerate your health (from when you run into enemies or are hit by their missiles). You can earn bonus points (with Good or Perfect ratings) based on how you fire your laser with the beat of the music. After you clear an entire section you get your score and a rating on how you performed.

Additional screens are unlocked based on the number of stars earned.

I can't stress how much fun I had playing this game, It's that good."

"The Mad Catz Xbox 360 Rock Band Wireless Fender Stratocaster Replica - Sunburst is as close to authentic as video game guitar controllers get.

Design

As the price suggests, no expense is spared. This is the absolute pinnacle of gaming peripheral design and construction. The neccessary plastic buttons, knobs and switches are laid over a real fender stratocaster body, neck and headstock. Even the tuning pegs on the headstock are authentic and fully functional; unfortunately, they jangle about as you move the guitar (fixed with some weak, gentle glue). The glossy sunburst finish and the heft of the wood are just great. This is just a beautiful wireless (3 AA batteries) guitar that you may want to keep out on a stand rather than tossed into the back of a closet.

A few departures from a standard stratocaster are the neck finish, a slightly oversized whammy bar, and the fret spacing. Strats usually have a solid maple neck or a maple neck with rosewood overlay. This replica has (i believe) a real maple neck but with a plastic rosewood-like finished inlay. Rosewood would have been very impressive and slightly better on the fingers. The longer whammy bar makes it easier to use. The fret spacing, similarly eases play by conforming to the rock band guitar controller's spacing. An actual strat has wider frets at the top and narrower frets at the bottom, in a gradual transition. A real strat also has several more frets on the neck. It's understandable that Mad Catz would want to stick with the video game's convention for fret layout, but I would have preferred the layout of a real strat, as I'm sure most guitar players would. It would have been very slick to be able to pop off one set of buttons and pop on the differently spaced set at will.

Performance

Playing with the Fender Strat Replica is a real pleasure. It is the most accurate controller I've tried. With the size and weight of a real stratocaster, it will add realism and comfort to the whole Rock Band experience. Overdrive is activated by tilt sensors, but unlike cheaper guitars, it works exactly the way it should. The clicking strum bar is fairly stiff and requires much more force than most other guitar controllers. It takes some getting used to, but after an hour or two you'll have no problem coaxing out a quick and rapid response. This is a guitar that feels like it will work just as well in 2 years as it does today. One negative, it lacks the auto-calibration of the Rock Band 2 guitar.

Conclusion

While the price is steep, you're getting the best Rock Band guitar controller on the market and a work of art. Although I will have to report back a few months from now, I doubt I'll experience any sort of wear and tear, as I have with other guitar contorllers. A warning to parents - some of the positives (heft and size) could be big negatives for someone under 54" tall. I have owned numerous xbox 360's since they came out. I Started with the original 20 gig, and after having some issues with some accessories with it (the intercooler i bought literally melted into the back of my 360) so i upgraded to the Elite. I loved the console, and never once had an issue with it. but there were always some negative things about it, including the noise, the size of the power brick, and how hot the games would get at times while playing. I only bought this at midnight but I can say its great so far, and you save 50 bucks by getting this bundle.

What i love so far:

- love the new look. my elite was black, but the console was bulky. the new one has a sleek design and is more compact.

- The touch sensitive buttons are cool, you don't even have to press.

- The power brick is much smaller, and leaves way more room.

- The xbox is much more quiet

- 3 USB hookups is great

- 250 gig hard drive is all i will ever need.

- The kinect is just amazing. works extremely well, recognized my every movement and voice command. the is definitely next gen gaming. Its just awesome. already used video chat, and the camera actually follows you around, whether you go up or down or anywhere. i cannot wait to use it more

Our wii was on the blink and we knew it was only a matter of time until it needed to be replaced. This looked like the perfect replacement, an upgrade even. The idea of being able to play games without the wii controllers seemed to good to be true and it was....

I made this purchase based on the the rave reviews and after trying it out, I am confused over the accolades. Those used to wii will be less then impressed with the results. Sure the wii controller can be a hassle with certain work out games but having a pocket to place it in solves all. The wii controller allows your movements to be recorded almost instantly as it communicates wireless with the sensor bar thanks to accelerometers in the remotes. Xbox Kinect uses a camera to record your movements and then sends them to the console. There is a noticeable time delay as the console plots your movements from the information received from the camera and they are not always accurate. Having your movements tracked a few beats after you make them, threw me off. Perhaps this is not as noticeable if you haven't used the wii. Also, there is also the issue of the limited number of motion games made available; hopefully, this will change and more games will be developed.

Also, please note that Xbox Live, being able to access Netflix, and other things cost extra. Yes, you read correctly - there is a fee just to access Netflix on the Xbox. Seriously? You want to change your user name on Xbox? There's a nominal fee for that..... Like the Xbox console with Kinect didn't cost enough?

I was really looking forward to the Xbox Kinect after reading all the raves but ended up disappointed. I know my husband was even more disappointed because he wanted to be able to play the more mature games available on the Xbox platform over the more family oriented wii. We returned it. I am hoping that Xbox will continue to work on Kinect technology since the idea of it is great!

Usage Comparison:

The Wii was wildly popular when it was released due to its novelty, however 4 years later, few Wii game innovations have appeared causing Nintendo to lose market share in the past year. The PS3 Move is more accurate than the Wii since the Move tracks motion in 3-D space while the Wii tracks motion in 2-D space (2 dimensional, like paper) and analyzes that data to interpret 3-D movements. The light globe on the PS3 Move looks cool initially, but the bright light becomes glaringly annoying soon, especially in a dark room. Both the Wii and PS3 motion controllers are less integrated to the console's navigations and functions than the Xbox Kinect. The Kinect allows users to say commands and motion gestures to navigate menus, browse online, interact with avatars, and play media content. Winner: Xbox Kinect.

Price Comparison:

The Wii system ($200) includes the 3 controllers (Wiimote, nunchuk, & motionPlus) needed for 1 player, but costs another $40-80 per player, depending on the accessories that you buy. The PS3 Move retails for $100 for 1 player and the XBOX Kinect retails for $150 for 2 players, but both are accessories so they require the original game system. While the Wii & PS3 Move use similar components, the PS3 has the advantage since its components have 3-axis of motion detection compared to 2-axis sensors in the Wii; also the PS3 has a stronger processor to calculate position and distance. Instead of relying on micromechanical components, the XBOX Kinect uses a video camera, an infrared camera, and a 4-microphones array, which together is capable of gesture, facial, and voice recognition for tracking up to 6 players. The PS3's disadvantage is that micromechanical components may wear & tear and cause inaccurate motion detection, while the Xbox's disadvantage is that more processing overhead is needed when analyzing video and sound to interpret the players' motion. While the PS3 is the obvious winner over the Wii, the success of the PS3 Move vs. the Xbox Kinect will depend on the game developers' ability to translate motion into actions. Overall, the Xbox Kinect has a slight advantage because the motion software can always be improved by Microsoft, whereas the PS3 controllers will most likely remain unchanged since hardware redesigns are always expensive to both the company and its users. Winner: Xbox Kinect.
